Our road trips offer much more than just exceptional baseball experiences, attracting a diverse array of fans from all over the country. Last year, our travelers varied in age from 8 to 92 years old, including grandparents with their families, couples, single women, and groups of friends. We pride ourselves on providing an enjoyable experience for everyone, regardless of age or background.

What type of hotels do we stay in?

We collaborate with a variety of hotel chains across the nation, prioritizing full-service hotels such as Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn, and Embassy Suites whenever possible. Our preference is to locate accommodations in the downtown areas of each city, providing you ample opportunity to explore and immerse yourself in the local culture and attractions. We believe that our tours offer more than just baseball games; they are an invitation to experience the richness of each city. Rather than opting for roadside motels, we choose to stay in the heart of the cities, ensuring a more integrated and comfortable experience before we embark on the next day's journey.

Where are your seats for the games located?

Thanks to our longstanding relationships with teams, we consistently secure the best available group tickets for each game. Typically, these seats are situated in either the mid-level sections within the infield or the lower levels along the lines. Factors such as the specific ballpark, day of the week, number of season ticket holders, the opponents, and potential game promotions can influence ticket availability. For guests seeking an enhanced experience, we offer our Upgraded Ticket Option (UTO). Opting for UTO ensures access to the finest lower-level seats within the infield area - right where the infield dirt meets the outfield grass, between 1st and 3rd base - available for an additional fee. This option is designed to provide an even more memorable and close-up view of the game.

How would we get from city to city while they are on the trip?

During the majority of our trips, transportation is provided via deluxe motor coaches. These coaches are not only comfortable but also equipped with amenities to enhance your travel experience. Each coach features air conditioning, reclining seats for added comfort, a restroom, and adheres to a strict non-smoking policy. To ensure a pleasant journey, the bus makes frequent stops, allowing for breaks and relaxation during our Baseball Road Trips. For longer distances between cities, we arrange flights on regularly scheduled airlines. These flights are conveniently included in the overall cost of the trip, ensuring a seamless and hassle-free travel experience from one city to the next.

What does double mean? Is this price for two people?

Our pricing is structured per person and varies according to the number of individuals in your travel party and your chosen hotel occupancy option. Terms like 'single', 'double', 'triple', and 'quad' indicate the type of room occupancy. 'Double' refers to two people sharing a single room, which can have either one or two beds. 'Triple' occupancy means three people in a room with two beds, and 'quad' indicates four people sharing a room, also typically with two beds. For those needing additional bedding, rollaway beds or cots can be requested at some hotels, subject to availability. However, it's important to note that in larger cities such as New York or Chicago, fire regulations often prohibit the use of rollaways or cots in hotel rooms.

Are there meals included in this price?

Apart from the welcome reception and breakfast, as specified, meals are not included in the road trip price. We recognize that each individual has unique dining preferences and habits, so we leave meal choices up to our travelers for maximum flexibility and convenience. Most of our selected hotels feature on-site restaurants, and we often choose hotels that are situated near a variety of dining establishments. Typically, our itineraries are planned such that the group is at the ballpark during dinner hours, allowing travelers to explore a range of food and beverage options independently. The welcome receptions, usually held on the first day of the trip, include a meal and soft drinks. These receptions provide a wonderful opportunity for you to meet your fellow travelers and tour host in a relaxed, social setting.

What can I expect from a stadium tour?

Stadium tours are immersive experiences lasting typically between 60 to 90 minutes. These tours include exclusive access to various areas of the stadium not usually open to the public, such as the press box, the owner's box or suite, and, where possible, behind-the-scenes glimpses into areas like the locker room, umpire's room, and the dugout. Each tour is designed to either begin or conclude at the team's gift shop, offering you the chance to purchase souvenirs as a memento of your visit. Please note that the specific stops on the tour may vary depending on the policies of the individual teams, ensuring each tour is a unique experience.

What does a city tour entail?

City tours are engaging excursions that typically span 3-4 hours, offering a comprehensive overview of each city's unique attractions. These tours include either drive-bys or stops at notable tourist landmarks, providing you with an opportunity to experience the city's essence and learn about its rich history. Our city guides are both friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing your understanding and enjoyment of the tour. Participation in both city and stadium tours is optional, and we ask that you inform the tour host in advance if you choose not to participate. This ensures that the tour departs smoothly and on time, without unnecessary delays.

What is the protocol if a game gets rained out?

Fortunately, rainouts have been a rare occurrence in our 25-year history. Most baseball teams will try to wait out the rain rather than postpone a game. However, if a game does get postponed, we adhere to the team's specific policy regarding such situations. On the rare occasion that tickets are refundable, we will issue a credit for the cost of the game ticket. More commonly, the original ticket remains valid for the rescheduled game. We understand that attending the rescheduled game may not always be feasible for our travelers, but we follow the team's guidelines in these instances to ensure fairness and consistency.

Who will be the host for my baseball road trip?

The selection of the tour host for each baseball road trip is determined closer to the departure date. We carefully choose the host based on various factors including the geographical location of the trip, the proximity to the host's home, their availability, and their level of experience. Rest assured, all our tour hosts are esteemed members of the Sports Travel and Tours team, each bringing their unique expertise and enthusiasm to the trip. Feedback from travelers consistently praises our hosts for their exceptional guidance and knowledge. We encourage you to embark on different trips with us, experiencing the unique charm and insights each host brings to these memorable journeys.

When can I expect to receive my trip itinerary?

You will receive all essential information for your trip, including final documents, approximately 10-14 days prior to your departure date. This packet will contain comprehensive details such as the full itinerary, hotel information, a profile of your tour host, and other relevant information to ensure you are fully prepared for your journey. We ensure that you have ample time to review these details and get ready for an enjoyable and well-organized trip experience.

Are there any discounts available?

Yes, we offer a special discount for MVP Club members. When you book any two of this year’s Baseball Road Trips, you can enjoy a 10% discount off the lower-priced trip. This saving applies exclusively to the base package price and does not extend to upgrades or add-ons. Please note that our Double Play Savings offer cannot be combined with any other promotions or discounts, ensuring exclusive benefits for our MVP Club members.

What happens if my booked baseball road trip doesn't have enough participants?

Our goal is to operate all scheduled road trips this summer. However, in the event that a particular trip does not attract a sufficient number of participants, we will offer alternative arrangements. You will have the option to embark on the same trip independently, with guidance from us on how to make the most of it. Alternatively, you can choose to join a different group trip, with any price difference adjusted accordingly. If none of the other trips align with your interests, we provide the flexibility to either transfer your payment to a trip next year or issue a full refund. We strive to ensure that your baseball road trip experience is enjoyable and seamless, regardless of the circumstances.

Are there options for a shorter version of the trip if I can't commit to the full duration?

Yes, we understand that sometimes you might not be able to participate in the entire trip. For many of our longer journeys, we offer what we call a "splinter" trip – a condensed version that typically covers either the first or second half of the full trip. This allows you to experience a significant portion of the trip within a shorter time frame. If these splinter options do not suit your schedule, we can also arrange a customized, modified trip. This tailored trip will be specifically priced according to your revised itinerary, ensuring you still enjoy a fulfilling travel experience without committing to the full duration of the original trip.

Is it possible to cancel my reservation after booking?

Once your booking for the trip is confirmed and you have signed off on it, the reservation becomes nonrefundable. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to safeguard your investment in the event of unforeseen circumstances. To assist with this, we can provide you with an insurance quote from our partner, Travel Insured International, allowing you to make an informed decision about protecting your trip expenses. In case you need to make a last-minute name change on the reservation, we can accommodate this request with a change fee of $25. This policy is in place to offer some flexibility while also maintaining the integrity of our booking process.
