Anchorage / Kenai
This morning, you embark on a journey southward towards the Kenai Peninsula, where Alaskans go to play. En route, stop by the town of Girdwood, and Alaska's largest Ski Resort, Alyeska Resort. Here you'll take the aerial tram to the top of Mt. Alyeska with an elevation gain of over 2,000 feet. If the weather is cooperative, you'll have views of distant glaciers, spectacular mountain peaks and the Pacific Ocean. Afterwards, transfer to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. This sanctuary takes in abandoned and injured animals in hopes of releasing them back into the wild. Then your drive will continue through the Kenai Mountains and Turnagain Pass before arriving in Kenai for an evening game at Coral Seymour Memorial Park, home of the Peninsula Oilers.
